Biography

Walter Ruby is a veteran journalist and lifelong activist in Muslim-Jewish relations. As Muslim-Jewish Program Director at the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding (2008–2016), he organized hundreds of "twinning events" connecting tens of thousands of Jews and Muslims in over 30 countries. He has written for the Jerusalem Post, Forward, Maariv, and New York Jewish Week, as well as major outlets like the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.

Ruby co-authored We Refuse To Be Enemies (2021) and Live Another Day (2020). He is currently executive director of JAMAAT and lives in Washington, DC.
